Tchaikovsky: Violin Concerto
Shostakovich: Symphony No. 6

Tchaikovsky’s elegant and romantic Violin Concerto is so beloved, we often forget it was first considered unplayable. But today’s leading violinists master yesterday’s most fiendish difficulties and have made it an evergreen staple to music lovers. We go one further in our concert as soloist Vadim Gluzman will perform on the very Stradivari violin which Tchaiovsky had in mind when writing this work. In his Sixth Symphony, Shostakovich brilliantly expresses the contradictions of his troubled Soviet world.

Prep for the concert and listen to the Spotify playlist.

This concert will feature EnCue technology during Shostakovich's Symphony No. 6.
